COMPLICATIONS OF CHRONIC MIDDLE EAR INFECTION

The authors present case of disease in young patient took to hospital comatose with clinical date for otogenical meningitis. From conducted in emergency manner diagnostic investigation and surgical manipulations has been discovered chronic otitis media-cholesteatoma, with abundant vascularisation, destroying mastoid process of temporal bone and brain abscess in left hemisphere.
Emergent operation with smooth post operative period and sudden death 10 days latter. On discuss unexpected lethal end with hyperproduction of epinephrine from histological proofed paragangliom.
The aim of this report is to display the exceptionally rare coincidence of chronic otitis media with cholesteatoma, otogenical meningitis, cerebral abscess and vascular tumour (paragangliom) with malformation of external carotid artery
