THE ASPECT OF THE ABR IN PREGNANCY

We evaluated the impact of pregnancy on auditory brainstem response (ABR) latency in sixty-two pregnant women. A control group of fifty-eight women was also studied and ABR latencies between two groups were compared. Results show a statistically significant increase in the latency of wave I in the pregnant women. These data suggest hormonal factors in pregnancy influence the cochlear mechanism
