CHOLESTEATOMA SURGERY IN CHILDREN

In this study the follow up result of cholesteatoma surgery in 87 children is presented. Patients aged were between 6-15 years old. Patients were operated on between 1990-96 at SSK İzmir Educational Hospital’s ENT Clinic and followed-up 3 to 7 years. In this period the hearing remained stable in 67% of open ceses, 33% of closed cases. In 47% of closed cases cholesteatomas recurrences of residual cholesteatoma were bbserved. In open cases there were only 2% residuel cholesteatoma.
