MODIFICATIONS TO OLAIZOLA'S “0N DEMAND" TYMPANOMASTOIDECTOMY.

We show in this video, with real and computer annotation imagery, the technique described by Olaizola in 1985. We include important modifications such as the Meatoplasty through an endaural approach at the beginning of surgery.
The so-called "On Demand" Tympanomastoidectomy is an atticotomy with walling of the aditus using cortical mastoid bone. It can be used in the cases with a cholesteatoma localized in the middle ear and the attic and aditus. When the antrum is invaded, this technique has an uncertain application. The results, from the prevention of recurrences point of view, are better than the results of the Canal Wall Up technique, and the functional and architectural results are similar.
