Training level: Advanced (practising otologists/on otology fellowship programme)
The course takes place in the Anatomy Dissection Room at King's College London, Guy's Campus and is organised by the Department of ORL-Head & Neck Surgery, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Maximum ten delegates. Topics and dissection will include various hearing reconstruction techniques, introduction to auditory implants (cochlear implants, active middle ear and bone conduction implants), approaches to the lateral skull base, laser and endoscopic ear surgery as well as neuroradiology. Each participant is provided with a whole fresh-frozen cadaveric head (= two temporal bones) to dissect over two days. The faculty-to-delegate ratio is approximately 1:1 throughout the course. The course fee is £799* and includes all materials and equipment required for dissection, lunch and refreshments on both days, a course dinner and a certificate of attendance.
